Medications

Nausea & Feeding

Nausea & Feeding

Do not administer any over-the-counter medications, such as painkillers or ointments, as they can be toxic. Absorbable sutures are used, so there's no need for a follow-up visit for suture removal. Some swelling at the incision site is normal and should subside within 2 weeks.

Nausea & Feeding

Nausea & Feeding

Nausea & Feeding

Your pet may feel nauseous after surgery. Offer a small amount of water approximately 4 hours post-surgery. If there is no vomiting, provide a small portion of food (about 25% of their usual meal) in the evening. It's normal if they don't eat much initially. By the next day, you can resume their regular feeding and drinking schedule.

Emergency Care & Contact Information

We do not provide after-hours emergency care or phone support. In case of an emergency, please contact an emergency veterinary clinic.

For post-surgical concerns, our staff is available during regular clinic hours. You can reach us at 915-407-5314. Our voicemail message will include the locations of our stops for the week.
